Clean Air For Everyone is our mantra

We worked hard to get the Iowa Smokefree Air Act passed, and it went into effect on July 1, 2008. But our work is not done yet:

  • The teen smoking rate is not declining
  • Smoke-free tobacco use is growing
  • Children are still exposed to second-hand and third-hand smoke in their homes and cars
  • 80% of Iowans who smoke want to quit

Clean Air For Everyone (CAFE) is dedicated to helping residents of Johnson County achieve and maintain freedom from tobacco and secondhand smoke. We offer tips on quitting, resources for staying tobacco-free, youth activities and involvement, and state and local advocacy.

Goals:

  • Prevent initiation of tobacco use by youth
  • Reduce exposure to secondhand smoke
  • Promote cessation among young people and adults
  • Maintain a tobacco control community coalition
